35 weeks

well, baby girl did not disappoint...she's a BIG girl! she's measuring at 7lb 6oz already...yowzers!!! puts her in the 97%ile for gestational age. as a comparison, abram was 6lb 8oz at the same point in pregnancy and was born 8lb 10oz at 39 weeks. since my belly measured right on time at my last appointment, i was beginning to wonder if we had a normal size baby in there. obviously that's not the case, but she's healthy & happy so we'll let her continue to grow for now. my doctor has decided it's not safe to go beyond 39 weeks and will even consider inducing at 38.5 weeks to avoid the shoulder distocia 2 out of 3 of the boys had. she said she has no doubt i can push out a big baby since i've proven that with my one push abram last time :) but she doesn't want to risk a dangerous situation by letting her get too big to make it out safely. otherwise, my fluid levels looked perfect, my blood pressure was fine, and her heartrate was great. she checked my cervix also, and i was 1 cm dilated & she could touch her head already, so baby girl may come on her own before we have to induce. who knows?! i don't put a lot of faith in dilation because i know you can be several cm dilated for more than several weeks, but considering her size & the fact that she's my 4th baby, i may have a tendency to progress quicker this time around. i'm really enjoying these last few weeks of the end of my pregnant momma life, that's for sure. it would be nice to go into labor naturally, but i am a little worried about how quickly things would happen if my water broke! especially since we live 45 minutes away from the hospital :) for now, i will just continue my nesting & weekly checkups on her.
