spring mill

our memorial weekend was spent camping at spring mill park with jerry's parents and his brother's family. lots of fun! the boys went non-stop all weekend with their cousins. they all played so well together...going to the playground, hiking, exploring the cave, playing games, riding bikes, roasting marshmallows, etc. they love camping!!

tagged

i got tagged by my lovely sister-in-law so i guess i'll share too...first off is "one thing in my home that I can show and tell about. A piece or item that I love or that is near and dear to my heart".

these are the scrapbooks that i've made...pregnancy ones, baby ones, etc. lots of time and money go into them and i'm definitely way behind but they're worth the finished product. sitting in front of them is my little 10x zoom camera that i use to capture our special moments.

next are "the items in my handbag that I just CANNOT live without". i don't usually carry a purse/handbag and haven't for the last 6 years for obvious reasons, so instead i bought this cute little golla pouch that has slots for your cards, a zipper part for your money, and holds your phone. it can easily be thrown in a diaper bag or be carried alone. it also has a clippy on it to hook to your keychain. so i have my palm treo (pda/phone=awesome!), gum, and my glasses.

now i do carry a messenger type bag to work and it has my "CANNOT live without" essentials for work. my pager, my pda with the drug program i use ALL the time, my keys to my office/desk, and mace for walking 2 blocks to my car. i'm pretty boring, i know....just learning to simplify...

last days of school

today was eli's little 500 race at school. jerry built this cool race care and eli and i painted it to look sorta like a blue lightning mcqueen. then we went to the park for his class picnic. it was a perfect spring day for it all :)

good morning

abram will sit and read to himself and talk to his animals when he wakes up until you go in and get him. lately though he's decided to just throw everything/everyone out of crib as his wake up call. you walk in and he says "oh no" as he's standing looking out at his "friends". yes, my boys have all managed to survive despite the 10 animals, books, bumper pads, and blankets in their cribs.

my organizer

i thought this was fun for abram when he was like 10 months old. apparently rearranging cabinets is worth hours of toddler time too. tell me again why we have a playroom??

change of plans

just to back track a little...jerry's heart did not cooperate for the hike. he made it one day on the trail, but with a heart rate of over 200, nearly passing out several times, and severe shortness of breath, he decided it wasn't worth the risk. since they were already out there, they decided to make the most of being close to washington d.c. and did a little touring. although he enjoyed a day in d.c., he was very disappointed that he wasn't able to do the hike he planned and had anticipated for so long. he made a visit to the doctor yesterday and his plan is to wait a little longer to allow more time for healing. if no change by the end of next month, then we'll probably be planning another ablation.

alvin

one of the fun chores of being a mommy of a 3 year old is responding to the call of "mom, come wipe my bottom!" yippee, i love to hear that. well this morning when i got the famous call i opened the bathroom door and heard, "HEL-LO, GOR-GEOUS!" the boys have seen the new alvin and the chipmunks movie more than a few times and this is one of alvin's classic lines in the movie. i nearly peed my pants after caleb said this...hilarious!

stubborn heart

well, the cardioversion effects lasted one whole day! jerry is now bouncing back and forth between a normal heart rate and a very high heart rate with some atrial flutter. i talked to the cardiologist today and he seems to think jerry will be fine to go on his long-awaited hike this week. he's so excited to go, but we're both a little hesitant about the safety of his heart. keep him in your prayers during this time of refreshment as he does something he truly loves! we'll reevaluate when he gets back and follow up with the doc as to whether another ablation will be necessary.

nsr

after another cardiologist appointment on tuesday, jerry really had no option but to be cardioverted. his heart rate was only normal for 3 days after surgery and the medications weren't helping. so today we went to methodist again and after 2 shocks, his heart is now beating in normal sinus rhythm. it's hard to be optimistic that it will stay that way, but we will be hopeful!!
