fall camping

we spent this weekend camping with jerry's parents and his brother's family at turkey run. this was the first time abram and i actually slept in the tent with the rest of the boys. he's always needed to be confined to the pack-n-play in the travel trailor, but now that he's in a big boy bed we thought we'd give it try. it was a little chilly, but everyone did great (even the puppy!). we did lots of hiking to the suspension bridge along some beautiful trails and were all exhausted by the time we came home. if you click the title "fall camping" you should go to a slideshow i made with my new photoshop program. i'm just learning and i forgot to add captions, so if it doesn't work, please let me know!

one life to live

i heard this song on the way to work today on klove and thought i'd share it...http://www.33milesonline.com/...(their website plays it).
"you only get just one time around, you only get one shot at this
one chance to find out the one thing that you don't wanna miss
one day when it's all said and done
i hope you see that it was enough
this one ride, one try, one life to love".
reminds me why i LOVE music so much!!

big boy bed

it's official...i no longer have a baby boy in a crib! abram moved into a bed after multiple escapes from the crib. he's actually lasted the longest in it since he hasn't had a sibling come along to kick him out! he's doing pretty well in his "big boy bed" and is very proud. it's crazy to think that there has been a baby boy in that crib for over 6 years now! another bittersweet moment :)

of course, he wouldn't be a teipen boy if he didn't have 50 animals or "friends" as they call them in the bed with him. he sort of gets lost in it all!

real big K

last sunday as our church finished off it's 35th anniversary celebration, we participated in an ariel photo of our real life "k" symbol. over 2000 people, including our family, stood out in the windy rain while a helicopter took various pictures of us all. it was pretty cool! we are part of the white area at the bottom of the circle. for more pictures and video of it 'in the making' you can go to this link http://www.kingswaychurch.org/realbigk.html.

caleb asks...

"mommy, how do veggie tales hold things cuz they don't got any arms?"
i should probably preface this by explaining that we were on our way to preschool when he asked this random question. we rarely watch veggie tales at home, so he must've seen it at church and the ride to church/preschool made him think of it??

40 years!

i definitely have the BEST in-laws around! and this weekend we helped them celebrate their 40th anniversary!! jerry and i can proudly say that our parents have both been married to each other for 30-40 years! not too many people can say that these days. i forgot my camera for our dinner out with jerry's brother and his family, my parents, and my in-laws. we had a party of 14 with 6 children and they were SO well-behaved. we then came back to our house and enjoyed dessert and i gave them the scrapbook i made for them entitled "40 reasons to celebrate 40 years". we even managed to get a great shot of maw maw & paw paw with all of their grandbabies! happy anniversary!!!

in the paper

this was published in a little magazine called "the faces of the westside" in the indianapolis star. all of the people featured in it were from our church congregation, kingsway. my mom and dad were a part of it along with 2 of our boys and my nephew. looks like the sun was in their eyes for this picture :) if you click on it, you should be able to read the writing. oh, and by the way, my parents have been residents of avon for more than 6 years. more like 30+ years. don't know why they put 6.

impressed

i don't usually talk much about politics, but i must say...sarah palin just ROCKED the rnc!! she is truly the heart of america. she is right when she says, "change to promote career" or "career to promote change". that's what we're voting about. words vs. actions. not to mention it was so cute when her youngest daughter spit on her hand and wiped down the baby's hair with it...LOL!!

pure sweetness
