indians game

as a thank you for being volunteers in various areas at church, we were invited to attend a free indians game this weekend. this was the perfect opportunity to "try out" a real baseball game with the boys without feeling pressure to stay the whole game. it was a beautiful day, just a little too warm. the big boys did fine, but we intruded on abram's naptime and were reminded of that by the 7th inning (check out the last picture for proof of this!). they did have fun though and even got a free bat, plus their very 1st icees...yum!.

father's day 2009

after having jerry gone all last week on the appalachian trail, we are even more thankful this father's day for who he is and what he brings to our family. we love him SO much!!!

jungle room

caleb has had a safari themed room for awhile now, but recently abram decided he wanted a "jungle room" too. rather than make 2 similar rooms, i decided to add some special touches to caleb's room to make it fit both of them. abram & caleb both love it and i'm pretty happy with how it turned out too. i basically just drew on the walls with a pencil and then started painting.

bought these cheap, unfinished frames at michael's, painted them and traced letters on some scrapbook paper to make their name plates above the bookshelf. painted a monkey & palm tree, glued them on to make these...

took an unfinished mirror, painted it and glued on the crocodile. this shelf had stars & moons on it from our nursery...glued some palm trees & a monkey on it to make it match. colored with sharpees on the "a" & "c" for the finishing touch!

zoo

today was our 1st visit to the zoo this year. i got together with my 2 bff's from high school and ventured there with all of our children. lots of fun!

vbs 2009

we spent this past week at vacation bible school...treasure quest! this year i was one of the directors for the preschool area (ages 2-5) and so i got to experience all of the hard work, time, and dedication it takes to put on vbs. we had well over 300 preschoolers every evening and the elementary area had over 700 each night...amazing! what a wonderful opportunity we have at kingsway to bring hundreds of kids and families into our church who may never come otherwise. it all turned out great and i know my boys and i enjoyed it so much. exhausted, for sure, but all well worth it!

this morning i took the boys to dunkin donuts for the first time and, oh my, you would've thought i'd taken them to the biggest toy store ever! they were in heaven admiring all of the donut selection. it was priceless! they all came out saying, "i LOVE dunkin donuts! we should go there every day!"
