he's got brains!

so caleb, who just turned 5 and is in preschool, is fascinated by numbers. for a couple of months now he's been randomly spouting off things like, "do you know what makes 9...5+4 and 1+8 and 3+6". not really normal 5 year old thinking if you ask me, but we're proud & encouraging him, of course. well, yesterday i found a math workbook in the cabinet for 1st graders and thought it would be fun for caleb to look through it. the child hasn't stopped "doing his work" since! he's doing addition/subtraction problems for a 1st grader! i'm okay with this as long as he's not bringing home work that we can't help him with in 4th grade! what a smart little boy...so proud of him :)

he hadn't even eaten breakfast yet & he was hard at work! i'll remind him of this passion when he's a teenager refusing to do his homework :)
