my bakers

tonight we decided to make up for our cookie flop from a few weeks ago...the boys took an early shower and put jammies on so we could spend all evening baking together. caleb, especially, is fascinated with what goes on in the kitchen. he watches everything i do and wants to know specifics of how everything is made. tonight he even answered correctly when i asked what ingredient was missing from our cookie dough. of course, getting to sample cookie dough is always a plus, but i love that they enjoy baking/cooking. we blared alvin and the chipmunks christmas music and eli figured out some cool chef hats to wear. the cookies were yummy this time and i even told the boys my 'secret' to the perfect chocolate chip cookie. eli said to caleb, "now caleb, this is a secret, so you can't tell anyone but daddy. you understand?" it was so cute!
