"...the journey of caring for, raising, training, and loving children will mark us indelibly and powerfully. We cannot be the same people we once were; we will be forever changed, eternally altered. Spiritually speaking, we need to raise children every bit as much as they need us to raise them."

warning to moms of boys
today eli came running in from playing outside, cracking up laughing and said, "caleb just pooped in the grass!" of course, our response was, "WHAT?!!" he said, "he just had to go, so he went in the front yard". jerry was not at all amused by this and i was wondering if it really happened. jerry went out to investigate and sure enough, there was a 3 year old little boy turd on the front lawn. caleb came in crying and i asked him what happened and when he told me i tried really hard not to laugh, but i couldn't help it. once again, jerry was not amused and said, "it's not funny. it's disgusting." okay, i know it's disgusting, but i was just picturing in my head caleb squatting in the grass! and in fact, when caleb told me about it he said, "i didn't know how to sit down and do it out there, so i just pulled my shorts down and did this (as he gets into position)". oh my! later, jerry did crack up about it and i'm sure we'll be re-telling this story for years to come. i guess caleb is ready to go hiking in the wilderness with his daddy now...he just has to learn how to dig his own hole!

I can see Sam doing something like this. What can you do but laugh?
Oh dear! That is too funny! Disgusting? Yes...but you just have to laugh at some of these things.
If that were to happen here, it probably wouldn't be my son doing itt; more than likely it would be my youngest daughter!
