another update

well, yesterday jerry started having symptoms again! we thought we were in the clear, but apparently not. we're very discouraged at this point to think that he did the surgery for no reason. we're hoping that maybe his heart just needs time to heal and allow the scar tissue to block those areas. he called the cardiologist's office today to see where we should go from here as far as medications, etc, so we're waiting to hear back from them. everything happens for a reason and in God's plan, but it's hard to let go of the fact that we thought he was "fixed" and now we feel like he's back to square one. please continue to pray for him...thank you!

daddy's home

here are the big boys giving daddy their get well pictures they painted for him with maw maw while we were in the hospital. i don't know how people leave their kids for long periods of time. i haven't stopped hugging and kissing the boys since we got home and we were only away from them for a day and a half! jerry is doing well, just very sore. he's moving slowly and says he feels "like an old man". we're just glad he's fine and that we're home!

after i wrote yesterday's post at 4pm, the doctor came out! he said that jerry did great, but was an "interesting case"...things were a bit more complicated than they had anticipated. he said normally when they go in there's one area that seems to be causing the abnormal firing of the heartbeat. in jerry's case there were several. so he isolated 4 different vessels that were or could have been contributing to the abnormal beating of his heart. he seems very hopeful that jerry will never have to deal with this again and kept saying that he was "very happy with the results"! he'll be on blood thinning medication for a couple of months, but should be back to normal in no time. right now we're still in the hospital waiting for his nausea and headache to subside, but other than that, he's just very sore. he's moving slowly, but is looking forward to getting home to the boys!!!! thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. after being in a waiting room for over 11 hours, i definitely felt them in a powerful way!!

we sent jerry back for his cardiac ablation about 2 hours ago...this is gonna be a long day. the doctor's anticipate being in surgery for 6-8 hours. i'll repost once i know how things are going and how he's doing. we definitely appreciate your thoughts and prayers. i have a true sense of peace about this as i know someone much bigger than the doctors has my husband's very life in HIS hands!

i just went back to the nurses station because we hadn't heard anything after 6 hours. she called back to the room and they said, "they're burning...they're getting close...and he's doing great". hopefully in the next couple of hours, he'll be done!

4:00pm
still waiting...i just went back to check again and they said, "they're still working". i haven't sat for this long since being pregnant on bedrest! jerry's mom read an entire book today. it's been 9 hours...

i think i can sew! we've repainted and redecorated in our living room and kitchen, so i was on the lookout for some cute pillows to match. unfortunately after shopping all over i could not find anything that matched or was what i had in mind. so i decided to just buy some material and attempt to make my own. well, after 2 days of work, i did it! i made 5 pillows with LOTS of help from my momma, of course. after messing up 4 polka dots, i let her sew them on for me and then i ended up just taking her sewing machine home so i could finish the rest. i became obsessed with getting them done and am now quite happy with the results! they add just the personality i was looking for!

chick-ee

abram is in a major food rut. he wants "chick-ee" (chicken) for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. he signs and says "mooree" (more) and just keeps on eatin'. he dips it in ketchup and after every single bite wipes his fingers on his shirt! we just have to laugh at this point...
