"...the journey of caring for, raising, training, and loving children will mark us indelibly and powerfully. We cannot be the same people we once were; we will be forever changed, eternally altered. Spiritually speaking, we need to raise children every bit as much as they need us to raise them."

40 years!
i definitely have the BEST in-laws around! and this weekend we helped them celebrate their 40th anniversary!! jerry and i can proudly say that our parents have both been married to each other for 30-40 years! not too many people can say that these days. i forgot my camera for our dinner out with jerry's brother and his family, my parents, and my in-laws. we had a party of 14 with 6 children and they were SO well-behaved. we then came back to our house and enjoyed dessert and i gave them the scrapbook i made for them entitled "40 reasons to celebrate 40 years". we even managed to get a great shot of maw maw & paw paw with all of their grandbabies! happy anniversary!!!

in the paper
this was published in a little magazine called "the faces of the westside" in the indianapolis star. all of the people featured in it were from our church congregation, kingsway. my mom and dad were a part of it along with 2 of our boys and my nephew. looks like the sun was in their eyes for this picture :) if you click on it, you should be able to read the writing. oh, and by the way, my parents have been residents of avon for more than 6 years. more like 30+ years. don't know why they put 6.

impressed
i don't usually talk much about politics, but i must say...sarah palin just ROCKED the rnc!! she is truly the heart of america. she is right when she says, "change to promote career" or "career to promote change". that's what we're voting about. words vs. actions. not to mention it was so cute when her youngest daughter spit on her hand and wiped down the baby's hair with it...LOL!!
