my baby girl is halfway to her 1st birthday!!! miss kinley joelle is now over 16 pounds and 26 1/4 inches long...maintaining her 75%ile. she has starting rolling both ways, finally!! i think she can sense how we want her to stay a baby for longer because she has yet to sit up on her own or enjoy baby food. she's completely content with breastmilk & tummy time. she's now jumping in her jumperoo and gets very excited in doing so. the exersaucer has become a favorite too. she is tolerating her carseat much better now since she actually plays with her toys & interacts with her brothers in the van. she continues to use her fist/knuckles to soothe herself which is wonderful. she likes to hold on to a blankie while putting herself to sleep...it's precious. she's had a little bit of trouble falling asleep here lately because she gets stuck on her back and hasn't figured out how to flip back over in her crib. this has made for LOTS of flipping back over for mommy & daddy and a not-so-happy baby girl. she's learning though & getting more tolerant of sleeping on her back. she's now singing herself to sleep too. in fact, i hear her in the middle of the night sometimes when she wakes up & then sings herself back to sleep. it's the sweetest sound EVER!! she's also squealing now...mostly at her new buddy, oliver (our dog!!). she gets so excited when he comes around her although he pretty much ignores her. pretty soon, she'll be chasing him & he'll have no choice but to acknowlege her! like i said before, she is not liking ANY kind of food put in her mouth. she does the cutest thing with her tongue as she tries to block the spoon from entering her mouth. if i do manage to get some in there, she spits it out or does raspberries (her other new trick!). i can't force her to eat, so we'll just keep trying and hope she gives in sometime soon. she's happy, healthy, & growing just fine. i am completely in love with her...we all are. those blue eyes and sweet smile...simply irresistable!!

i feel you......blythe hated all things on a spoon. i swore she'd NEVER eat solid food, time and again. she finally started liking food, but real solid food, nothing pureed!! breastmilk is 100x healthier than any baby food anyway! she's so perfect, tracy!!
thanks for the reassurance, monica! caleb wasn't huge fan of baby food either, so i'm hoping she'll just start eating real food in the next couple of months. we'll see!
