happy thanksgiving!
"...the journey of caring for, raising, training, and loving children will mark us indelibly and powerfully. We cannot be the same people we once were; we will be forever changed, eternally altered. Spiritually speaking, we need to raise children every bit as much as they need us to raise them."

transforming trevor
one of eli's class projects this month was to create a 3-dimensional turkey with life-like features. he then had to write a paper/speech about his turkey, describing it in a way that would keep it from being eaten at thanksgiving. he, of course, chose to make it out of legos and it was amazing!!

1st nine weeks awards
this is the 1st time eli has EVER gotten a "B"!! considering he's in the high ability program this year, i think one B+ is just fine. he's determined though that that will be his only B :) he also maintained perfect attendance.
caleb earned the citizenship award for his 1st grade class. his teacher said he was a very serious student who is a great example to his classmates.
he also received 2 "wow" awards which is when the teacher catches you doing something out of the ordinary/extraordinary. he was able to get perfect attendance also! we are very proud of these boys!

7
a ninja birthday was his request, so we made due with what we had since you can't really find ninja stuff. he loved it regardless and did his best to handle the attention on his special day. his shy, serious self comes out when people are all looking at him, so the gift opening was slightly painful. but he managed to be all smiles for the yummy ice cream cake.
